About BE MY SCRIBE

Have you ever seen the determination of a student who knows the answers but can’t write them down independently?

For visually impaired students, the absence of a helping hand during exams can make all the difference between success and a missed opportunity. When time runs out and no scribe is available, these students are left helpless, not because of a lack of knowledge, but because they lacked support at the right moment.

Can we, as a society, change this? Absolutely.

Be My Scribe is an initiative that connects compassionate volunteers with visually impaired students who need assistance during their exams. Your presence as a scribe means these students can write their answers, express their knowledge, and earn the success they deserve.

A little time from your schedule can change someone’s life forever. It’s more than just helping with an exam—it’s about ensuring equal opportunities for everyone.

Voluntarily initiated since 2009, with a vision to ensure equal opportunities for all, we started with just a few volunteers willing to lend their time to visually impaired students during exams. What began as a small initiative has grown into a movement of compassion and support.

Our dream is to build a network of scribes across the country, ensuring that no student is held back due to the lack of a helping hand. Together, we can create a community where every student gets the chance to succeed, regardless of challenges.

Our Vision: To become “The helping hand behind every student’s success” and build a future where disabilities are no barrier to achievement.

How You Can Help:

- Volunteer as a Scribe: Spend a few hours helping a student write their exam.

- Encourage Others: Spread the word about the need for scribes in your community.

- Join the Movement: Be part of a compassionate network ensuring every student has the support they need.

With your help, no student will be left behind—together, we can ensure that every individual gets a fair chance to shine.

Be a scribe. Be the reason someone succeeds.
